Practical guides

Build a theme budget beyond the sticker price

Separate required plugins, implementation, content work and maintenance over the same planning period.

Methodology & limitations

This is an editorial guide based on official references, not a hands-on purchase or performance test. Validate it against your versions, content and business needs.

Separate essential costs

List the theme, required plugins, asset permissions, installation, migration and customization separately. When a demo depends on a paid plugin, verify the rights and update channel included in your purchase rather than assuming every visible feature is included.

Distinguish one-off and ongoing work

Record the billing unit, expiry, renewal amount and cancellation conditions for each item. Distinguish annual support from monthly app charges. Leave unknown costs unresolved instead of filling them with zero. Use one currency and keep taxes separate.

Budget for verification and exit

Allow time for staging, restoring a backup, regression testing and eventually replacing the theme. When purchase prices are close, compare the extra work needed for the same tasks rather than the number of demo homepages. Our budget tool calculates your own inputs; it does not supply live prices.
