Practical guides

Test a theme with your own content

Test long headings, uneven images and complete user journeys instead of treating the demo as a guarantee.

Methodology & limitations

This is an editorial guide based on official references, not a hands-on purchase or performance test. Validate it against your versions, content and business needs.

Create a small stress-test set

Prepare short and long headings, portrait and landscape images, an article with a table, a long URL and an item without a cover. Inspect cropping, card alignment, reading width and wrapped buttons. Test the languages you will publish, not only the English demo.

Complete a journey, not just the homepage

Open a detail page from a category, search for another item and submit a form with an error. Use Tab to inspect visible focus, Escape to dismiss menus and browser zoom to enlarge content. On a phone, check that navigation, language controls and validation messages do not obscure the next action.

Keep reproducible notes

For each problem record the page, viewport width, steps, expected result and actual result. Replace vague reports such as “mobile is broken” with a reproducible example. Separate theme issues from plugin behavior and image size, then repeat the same steps after a fix.
