Practical guides

Classic and Hummingbird: check the target PrestaShop release

Begin with the official theme repositories and release branches before planning custom work.

Methodology & limitations

This is an editorial guide based on official references, not a hands-on purchase or performance test. Validate it against your versions, content and business needs.

Use the project repositories

PrestaShop maintains repositories for Classic and Hummingbird. Check the README, releases and compatibility requirements before use, and do not assume a development branch is a production distribution. Record the source and version used in your project.

Build one complete store journey

Verify a category, product, cart, sign-in and checkout journey before adding custom modules. Test languages, currencies, tax presentation and validation messages, using actual content to inspect main images and thumbnails.

Keep upgrade and rollback information

Record changed files, module positions and dependencies, and compare changes in a copy before upgrading. Demo material is not automatic evidence of permission for a live store. Check image rights and remember that an open-source theme does not include unlimited implementation or support.
